Pocket Coils are also known as individually wrapped coils. A pocketed coil slows motion transfer from side to side. Each individual coil contors to your body, allwing every movement to be supported no matter how you sleep. In most cases you wont feel any movemnt as you sleep. Pocketed coils are just as durable as regualr spring systems. They are heat tempered, and made out of strong steal. You have probably seen the commercial with the bowling ball and wine glass, that commercial is adervtising pocketed coils. Pocketed coils will always make a bed softer than one with a reagular spring system. Even a firm pocketed coil will feel some what soft.
